Dorothy Parker, Glasgow
Media Trainer
Dealing with the media can be a stressful experience. It’s your opportunity to get your message out to the public, but if you get it wrong it can reflect very badly on you and your organisation.
I have 25 years experience of producing news and current affairs programmes as a senior team leader at BBC Scotland. I was Editor of the Current Affairs TV series Frontline Scotland which won many national awards for investigative journalism documentaries.
I have all the inside information on how to handle the media — radio, television, print and online. I work with professional journalists and technicians to deliver training of the highest quality that delivers results.
All training is tailored to the client’s specific needs but a typical course might include an introduction to the various media; what makes a good news story; how to write an effective press release; how to handle interview requests; what are the various kinds of interview; and one-to-one practice sessions.
